Aesthetic surgery for men is more popular everyday,
with a steadily increasing demand. The most requested
procedures are the ones related to facial improvement.
On one hand, rinoplasty, (nose surgery), otoplasty
(ears surgery), and chin surgery.. On the other hand,
eyelids surgery, lifting.
Demand is however increasing for treatments of body
features, and about the body outline. The most frequent
treatment is abdominal surgery, but requests of pectoral
improvement procedures are increasing.
ABDOMEN
Deposits of excess fat and loss of definition are
a common problem, specially at waist and stomach,
but in general, at the abdominal zone. Liposuction
is the right treatment to eliminate excess fat and
results are very satisfactory. Abdominoplasty is needed
just in case of really big amounts of excess skin
and fat together with no firmness.
This procedure extirpates excess fat zones.
The scar is located at the inferior part of the abdomen.
PECTORALS
Some men are seeking a pectoral enhancement.. There
are several types of patients:
-men that attend gyms but are not able to get the
desired pectoral outline, in spite of physical training.
-Men that don’ t usually attend gyms, but
want to enhance their pectorals.
-Men who suffer from a congenital lack of pectoral
muscle. (Poland’s syndrome)
-Men with some injury at pectoral muscles
The procedure consists of silicone implants.
-Men who suffer from ginecomasty. They require some
gland extraction and a prothesis to get an enhanced
masculine shape.
These implants are different from the ones used
by women. They are specially designed for particular
cases. Sometimes they are even “tailor-made”.
Implants are put in place through the axillas ,
by doing a 4-5 cm cut.
General anesthesia is needed. A pocket is made between
the major pectoral muscle and the minor pectoral
muscle, in which the prothesis is located.
Patients usually feel some pain for 4-5 days after
surgery. Exercise must be avoided, specially if
it requires the use of pectoral muscles. (for about
4 weeks) There may be some itching, or jab and stretching
sensations.
Some possible complications include hematomas, infection,
temporary shriveling and asymmetry due to implant
movements from its original position.
This last undesired effect could also produce a
feminine appearance, just the opposite of the surgery
purpose.. A good physician is therefore always recommended.
GLUTEAL ZONE AND GEMELLUS MUSCLES
Silicone implants in these zones enhance their look.
They are recommended for patients who lack muscular
mass due to illnesses , or patients that have not
achieved , by physical training, the desired outline.
